I enjoyed the Summer Solstice celebration in Santa Barbara yesterday a little too much. As a result I was paying for it this morning. Luckily I had recorded the show on Friday so I only had to encode and upload the show today.

I think it was a great week of music:

Beth Thornley - Mr. Lovely
The Living End - Long Live the Weekend
American Heartbreak - The Last of the Superheroes
Elliott Smith - Memory Lane
Danger Mouse - 99 Problems
***Hidden Track***
Sponge - The Man
David Culiner - The Garden
Moodcrush - Megahog
Peter Moon Band - Shine

I had forgotten what it was like to launch a brand new show. American Cliche is a year old and it’s a totally different animal than the Rewind. After listening back to the first episode, I think it went pretty well. Additionally, I am getting some great feedback from people new to 8Ball, and some that have rediscovered the “new” version of the station. It feels good to know that you are diggin’ it thus far.

Don’t forget to stick around until the end of the show. There is a great tongue-in-cheek track by The Broadband (featuring Kay Hanley, Jill Sobule, and Michelle Lewis) about the importance of Net Neutrality!

Da Show:

James Kinne - Reach Down
Panic at the Disco - The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is…
John Stephens - Don’t Bring Me Down (Live)
Danger Doom - Sofa King
Star 64 - You May Be Beautiful
Black Lab - See the Sun
Eckie - Back on Your Side
Fall Out Boy - Dead on Arrival
Angeles Drake - Serpents
Q*Ball - John Hughes

The Broadband - God Save the Internet

8BallRadio Rewind Coming Soon!

Posted by 8Ball on June 9, 2006

For those of you that have been longing for 8BallRadio’s triumphant return, I have some good news. While we won’t be bringing back the 24/7 streaming that 8BallRadio once was, we will be bringing the 8BallRadio Rewind to you shortly.

You may be asking yourself, “what the hell is the 8BallRadio Rewind?” Well, I’m glad you asked. If you’ve been listening to my new show, American Cliche, you are aware that I have remained active on the net bringing you new talk-based content every week. However, over the last few months I’ve had an itch to start doing a music-based show. In a couple of weeks I’ll be doing just that. The plan is to do a 60 minute show once per week. It will be music in the same vein as the original 8BallRadio station.

In the meantime, if you are a band and would like your music featured on a future show, send me an email at scott (at) 8ballradio.com with a link to song file and I’ll check it out. I may ask you to send along a CD for airplay.

I’ll keep you all posted on the progress and the launch date!

-Scott

PS. A special thanks to Brian (aka Mighty B!) for getting this site installed and running so quickly. He’s the guy I always turn to in a pinch and he always comes through!
