Rewind #15

Posted by 8Ball on April 8, 2007

The wait is finally over for a new episode…well, sort of. This is the audio version of the new American Cliche TV show. Brian and I covered the Tempe Music Festival last weekend and had a great time. You can check out interviews with O.A.R., Yellowcard, Cowboy Mouth, and the creators of the festival. You can see the full video over at American Cliche. Over the next few weeks we’ll be putting up full video versions of the interviews here, so check back often.

I’m Still Alive

Posted by 8Ball on February 26, 2007

Most of you are probably aware that I’m still alive, but I wanted to reassure you that I haven’t forgotten about the Rewind. For the last six weeks or so I have been basically doing three jobs; my normal software day job, American Cliche, and loads of freelance work for a local company here in Santa Barbara. The problem is that I am usually too tired to even think about doing a Rewind during my spare time. Plus, it normally takes me anywhere from 2-3 hours of prep time finding music to play and such.

What am I saying? I have no idea at this point. It could be another month before I get a new show up. Hopefully I’ll get my schedule sorted out soon. In the meantime feel free to come over americancliche.net and say hello!

Coachella 2007 Lineup Announced

Posted by 8Ball on January 22, 2007

As many of you know I am a big fan of music and specifically the Coachella Festival outside Palm Springs California. This year the festival has been expanded to three days from its usual two. I have attended the last two years and expect to go again this year. Of the lineup announced thus far, highlights for me include: Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, DJ Shadow, Roots, Fountains of Wayne, Bjork, New Pornographers, Ozomatli, Faithless, and Crowded House.

Keep your eyes open for Goldenvoice to make the lineup “official” but this is pretty accurate from what I understand.

Rewind #14

Posted by 8Ball on January 7, 2007

This week I wanted to do something different. I not only focused the entire show on a single artist, but I’m presenting a concert that you won’t hear anywhere else. It’s Daft Punk live from their 2006 Coachella Festival performance. If you’re a fan, you’ll LOVE this. If you’re not familiar with Daft Punk, but dig on electronic music, I think you’ll be a fan after this show. The show runs about an hour an 20 minutes, and I think you’ll love every minute of it!

Enjoy!
